Sarah
Boies (5th season)
Sarah currently teaches ballet in the Atlanta area and won the choreography award at
the 2006 Bravo! competition. She is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana,
where she received her early dance training with
Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre and directors Molly
Buchmann and Sharon Mathews.
She also spent a year studying with the
Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and director
Marcia Dale Weary. Sarah graduated in 2005 from Louisiana State
University with a BA in public
relations, after attending the
Pennsylvania
State
University
for two years.
Sarah has particularly enjoyed dancing in
Janusz Mazon's
The
Firebird,
The Sleeping Beauty, and the Spanish variation in
The
Nutcracker. |
Bethany
Butts (6th season)
A Marietta native, Bethany
received her early training at the Academy of
Ballet Arts and then went on to attend
Birmingham-Southern College. Bethany graduated
summa cum laude with a BA in dance and as a
member of Phi Beta Kappa.
While in college, she studied with prima
ballerina Mira Popovich and danced several
leading and featured roles.
Since joining The Georgia Ballet, Bethany
has especially enjoyed performing as Myrtha in
Giselle, Dewdrop in
The Nutcracker, Carlotta Grisi in
Pas de Quatre,
Amour's Blessing in
The Sleeping Beauty and in George
Balanchine's
Concerto Barocco and
Serenade. She is
looking forward to a wonderful sixth season.

Elizabeth
Chapman (5th season)
Elizabeth grew up in Illinois and received
her early training with the Springfield Ballet
Company. Elizabeth has also trained with
American Ballet Theatre, the Joffrey Ballet
School and The Rock School. Before joining The
Georgia Ballet she danced for two years with the
Nashville Ballet. This past year Elizabeth had
the pleasure of performing in Dance Canvas, a
show for emerging choreographers. With The
Georgia Ballet she has especially enjoyed
dancing to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach in
Nicolas Musin's Going Bach and George
Balanchine's Concerto Barocco.
Elizabeth is very happy to be able to spread her
love of dance through teaching students both
young and old.

Adria Chuhay (6th
season)
Adria received her training from Fiona Fairrie in northwest Florida, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School of Canada, and
the
Alvin Ailey American
Dance Center.
She previously danced with Columbia City Ballet,
Nevada Ballet Theatre, and was a guest artist
with North Atlanta Dance Theatre. She has
also joined Sallyann Mulcahy’s Artisan Dance for
three summers to perform with other
professionals. At The Georgia Ballet, Adria has
danced Snow Queen in The Nutcracker,
Prayer in Coppélia, Lilac Fairy in The
Sleeping Beauty,
and
Tsarevna in The Firebird. She has
also enjoyed dancing in Janusz Mazon’s
Interruptions and Lloyd Whitmore’s
Andante Cantabile. Adria earned full
comprehensive certification through Power
Pilates in 2004 and instructs pilates at Studio
Lotus in
Atlanta.

Xavier DeMar (1st
season)
Xavier
DeMar is an Indiana native and recently
graduated from Broad Ripple High School. Xavier
received his training as a scholarship student
at Jordan Academy of Dance under the direction
of Larry Attaway. Xavier has worked with a wide
range of teachers and choreographers such as
Roberta Wong , Laura Byram , Natley Lowder ,
Derek Reid ,Victoria Morgan and Valentine
Liberatore. Xavier is excited to begin his
first season with The Georgia Ballet.

Amanda
Farris
(3rd season)
Amanda grew up in California training at
Valley Oak School of Dance and Central West
Ballet, and received scholarships to attend
Boston Ballet and Ballet Pacifica summer
programs. Amanda was awarded a full academic
scholarship to Long Beach State
where she graduated summa cum laude majoring in
Cultural Anthropology. While there she also
studied ballet, under Sophie Monat and Lorin
Johnson, and modern dance. She danced many lead
roles including those in Serenade, Les
Sylphides, and several original works. In
2006, Amanda was selected by Marie De la Palme
to dance in
Japan
at the Shinnyo-en International Festival of Joy
attended by 7,000 Buddhist followers from 57
countries.

Ashleyanne Hensley (5th season)
Ashleyanne, a native of Cleveland, Tennessee received her training at
North Carolina Dance Theatre, Nashville Ballet, and
Ballet West, among other prestigious schools. She
joined The Georgia Ballet after a season as a
trainee with North Carolina Dance Theatre, where she
performed in Salvatore Aiello’s Nutcracker
and Mark Diamond’s Fuego Del Mundo.
Ashleyanne attended Belhaven College where she
pursued a BFA in ballet and performed as a soloist
in Laura Morton’s Unspeakable Joy. At The
Georgia Ballet, she has enjoyed roles in
Vettriano’s Beach,
American Dreamer, Serenade, Concerto Barocco, and
Going Bach. In addition to dancing,
Ashleyanne is debuting her fashion line, fall 2009,
and is graduating spring 2010 from
American
InterContinental University with a BFA in Fashion Design
and Marketing. Ashleyanne thanks her family and
husband, Sam, for the continued
support in all the endeavors she pursues.

Abby
McDowell (3rd season)
Abby began her formal training at the age of twelve
with the School of North Carolina Dance Theatre.
There, she studied under Patricia McBride, Mark
Diamond, and Kathy Moriarty and later was appointed
an apprentice, performing in many works with the
company. At age eighteen, Abby was awarded a full
tuition scholarship for Pacific Northwest Ballet
School’s professional division and later a
fellowship with Atlanta Ballet. She looks forward to
performing new roles with The Georgia Ballet.
Abby is also a part-time student at Kennesaw State
University, where she maintains a 3.75 GPA. In
her spare time, Abby enjoys spending time with her
friends and family, and playing with her dog, Bella.

Katie
McMillen (4th
season)
Katie received her early training at the Academy
of Ballet Arts
in Marietta. She graduated summa cum laude from Texas
Christian
University in May 2006
with a BFA in Ballet and News-Editorial
Journalism. At TCU she had the opportunity to
perform in original works by Fernando Bujones,
Elizabeth Gillaspy, Christian von Howard and Li-Chou
Cheng. She has also danced with Ballet Concerto in
Fort Worth,
Texas. Katie is excited to
continue to grow as a dancer and looks forward to
blending her experiences as an artist with her
endeavors as a journalist. |

Anna Matsuyama (1st season)
Anna is originally from Tokyo,
Japan, and began dancing at a small local dance
school in her hometown before moving to Atlanta. She
graduated in 2008 from Georgia Institute of
Technology with a Bachelor's degree in Management.
Shortly after graduation, she completed her training
with the Atlanta Ballet, and is excited to join The
Georgia Ballet as a trainee. Anna looks forward to
working with the dancers and artistic staff and
improving her skills. |
Karina
Nolan (3rd season)
Born in upstate New York, Karina left home at 14 to
attend North Carolina School of the Arts where she
received several merit-based scholarships including
the Alexandra Danilova Endowed Scholarship for 3
years. While there, Karina studied with such
esteemed teachers as Melissa Hayden, Warren Conover,
and Gyula Pandi, and had the honor of dancing George
Balanchine's Stars and Stripes and
Symphony in C as well as Michel Fokine's
Les Sylphides. She then spent one year on full
scholarship at The School of Nashville Ballet and
went on to join Atlanta Festival Ballet for two
seasons. Since joining Georgia Ballet, Karina has
enjoyed performing in such ballets as Janusz Mazon's A
Young Dancer's Guide to the Orchestra, Balanchine's
Concerto Barocco, and Nicolas Musin's
Going Bach. Karina is also pursuing a
double major in hospitality administration and
marketing from Georgia
State University and is excited to be back for her
third season.

Patrick Rogart (1st season) Patrick Rogart earned his BA in Dance from Loyola Marymount
University in Los Angeles. He trained at Dance Arts Academy,
Santa Monica
College,
Debbie Allen
Dance Academy,
Westside Ballet and American Ballet Theatre in New York City.
He has worked with the National Dance
Foundation of Bermuda, Classical Ballet Theatre and
the Covington Regional Ballet. This is his first
season with The Georgia Ballet.

Erin-Elizabeth Watts
(8th season)
Erin-Elizabeth began her training with Virginia Ballet under the
direction of the late Tania & Oleg Tupine. She
went on to dance professionally with Southern Ballet
in Orlando, Florida for two seasons. Erin-Elizabeth
also performed for Walt Disney World and Tokyo
Disneyland. Now entering her eighth season with The
Georgia Ballet, Erin-Elizabeth has enjoyed
performing John Neumeier’s Shall We Dance?,
as Princess Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty,
the title role in Giselle, Snow Queen and the Sugar
Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Swanhilda in
Coppélia, the
Firebird in Janusz Mazon's The Firebird,
and La Sylph in La Sylphide.
