Spectrum:  A Successful Evening!

Spectrum: An Evening of New Works was an evening of fabulous dance and successful fundraising! On February 5, The Georgia Ballet’s annual event to showcase new works by emerging and established regional choreographers was held at the Murray Arts Center at Mount Paran Christian School.  Five of the choreographers were dancers from The Georgia Ballet's own professional ensemble.  We welcomed new choreographers Lauri Worrill-Biggs and Jennifer Kitchens.  Veteran Spectrum choreographers Janusz Mazon, Lynne Brague and Kristy Nilsson returned to make new works on the company.

The evening included a silent auction, which, thanks to generous contributions from area businesses, raised funds for the Ballet’s programming; including its professional performance series, its dance training and its Arts In Educational outreach programs.  The auction included a diamond pendant from D. Geller & Sons, AirTran tickets, two vacation homes, a Bi-plane Adventures ride, a North Georgia Canopy zip-line tours, tickets to sports and arts events, original art work, flowers from K Mike Whittle Designs, overnight accommodations, restaurant gift cards, and much, much more. The Ballet is indebted to the Murray Arts Center for its support of the event, to Susan Carter for catering and to all the volunteers who helped make the evening a success - particularly the Silent Auction Co-Chairs, Claire Francis and Suzanne Dunmire.  Our sincere thanks to everyone who donated, volunteered and participated in the event!
