Leiza Kelley

Leiza was born in Cherkassy, Ukraine.  At the age of 11 months, she moved with her parents to Knoxville, Tennessee where she grew up.  She began her dance training at Van Metre School of Dance in Maryville, Tennessee at the age of 4 under the direction of Amy Moore Morton and Jan Valenti.  At a young age she was fortunate to perform in several performances of The Nutcracker with  the Cincinnati Ballet and the Oklahoma City Ballet when they performed in Knoxville as the Knoxville City Ballet. At the age of 11, her ballet training continued at Kingsport Ballet under the instruction of Valeria Sinyavskaya; and at Studio Arts for Dancers where she studied with Lisa Hall McKee, and several other instructors. Two years ago, she joined the School of the Georgia Ballet pre- professional program and was  a student trainee with the company.

Leiza attended summer intensives at the Rock School of Ballet, Kirov Academy, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Next Generation Ballet and Orlando Ballet.

She is extremely excited and most grateful to continue at Georgia Ballet as a company trainee this season.
