About The Georgia Ballet

Founded in 1960 by Marietta native Iris Hensley, The Georgia Ballet is a non-profit organization committed to inspiring the public through professional ballet performance, unparalleled dance training and meaningful community outreach. We are continuously growing to meet the needs of the community while fulfilling our reputation as an outstanding arts organization.

THE GEORGIA BALLET PROFESSIONAL COMPANY

The Georgia Ballet's resident professional company is made up of national and international dancers of diverse backgrounds. The company’s ever-growing repertoire of classical and contemporary works includes ballets from such masters as George Balanchine and Marius Petipa, as well as brand new choreography. These vibrant performances offer audiences of all ages exceptionally high-quality experiences.

THE SCHOOL OF THE GEORGIA BALLET

The School of The Georgia Ballet's primary focus is on classical ballet, but also offers classes in tap, modern dance, jazz, and hip hop. The school serves both the recreational dancer, as well as the applied student, for whom ballet performance is a career goal.  The school also has a thriving open adult program with classes in a fun and relaxed environment.

ART IN EDUCATION

Arts In Education community outreach programs introduce school children to the artistry and athleticism of dance. It includes three separate areas of focus: subsidized field trips to The Georgia Ballet's professional performances; Momentum, a publicly-funded program that provides free dance instruction in Title 1 schools; and DanceAbility, a celebrated program that provides free instruction to children with special needs.
