ARTS IN EDUCATION

 

The Georgia Ballet plays a vital role in enriching lives in the community through our “Arts in Education” community outreach programs. Our programs serve the community by providing valuable arts experiences and quality dance training to children and families of all ages, abilities, and socio-economic levels. Each of our programs strives to enlighten and educate children on the beauty and benefits of dance. These programs cultivate a love for the arts, while encouraging creative thinking, problem solving, athleticism, and healthy life styles.

FIELD TRIP SERIES

Field trip series to our professional productions. Each year, our field trips introduce thousands of Metro Atlanta School Children to the artistry and athleticism of live performance. Specially designed, STEM-related study guides are available for download from our website to all participating teachers and students to help relate the experience to their core curriculum. These field trip performances give area school children valuable exposure to the arts and enhance the creative thinking process within their academics. All performances last approximately one hour. These performances are for groups only. Student tickets are $10.00 each. One free Adult Chaperone may be admitted for every 10 paid students.

DANCEABILITY

DanceAbility is a program that provides free class to children with special needs. The goal of this program is to provide those with physical disabilities a traditional dance class experience, while tailoring to their needs to provide comfortable participation. This class is taught by a qualified instructor, and is assisted by dance students to allow for the cultivation of personal relationships and special attention. While this course requires a great deal of one-on-one attention, the benefits to the students are tremendous. These students are able to realize a new potential in their abilities to move as well as their ability to achieve new accomplishments

Field Trip Series

 

The Georgia Ballet's Art in Education Field Trip Program annually introduces thousands of Metro Atlanta school children to the artistry and athleticism of live dance performance. Students attend abbreviated matinees of The Georgia Ballet’s Nutcracker series is also accompanied by a specially designed, STEM-related study guide to help relate the experience to their core curriculum.

These performances are for public or private school groups only. Student tickets are $10.00 each. One free Adult Chaperone may be admitted for every 10 paid student tickets. A minimum purchase of $210.00 is required for 21 tickets.
